CHEEVER TAVERN EVENT POLICIES & INFORMATION


Thank you for considering Cheever Tavern’s private event space for your gathering. Our newly designed room can accommodate up to 48 guests and is perfect for celebrations, business functions, and special occasions.

For smaller groups of 15 to 20 guests, we also offer the option to reserve multiple tables in our restaurant dining room. This is a non-private option, perfect for more casual gatherings or those looking for a more budget-conscious alternative. Please inquire about availability.

THE PARTICULARS

MINIMUM

There is a $1,500 minimum which can be met through any combination of food and beverages. If your total bill falls short of the minimum, the difference will be added to your final invoice.


DEPOSIT AND CONTRACT

A $500 deposit, along with a signed contract, is required to secure the date and will be applied toward your final invoice the day of the event. Full payment is due at the completion of your event. One final invoice will be presented for all food, fees, and related charges. Open bar orders will be included in the final invoice. Cash bar orders will be paid for individually. We cannot provide separate checks for events. 


FEES

In addition to the per-person price, there is an additional 20% gratuity for the service staff, 7% Local Tax, and a 5% Administrative Fee. The administrative fee does not represent a tip or service charge paid directly to employees, but is a charge to cover our operational costs. There is no room fee for our events. 

All quotes are based on a guaranteed three hour event. Additional event time (and/or setup time) will be billed at $200 per hour, provided there is not another event scheduled before or after.


CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that plans can change. To ensure we can rebook the space and minimize disruption to our business and our team, the following cancellation terms apply:

Cancellations made 14 days or more before the event will receive a full refund of any deposit paid.

Cancellations made between 7–13 days prior to the event will forfeit 50% of the deposit.

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event will forfeit the full deposit.

If a food & beverage minimum was agreed upon and the event is canceled within 72 hours of the scheduled time, the guest may be responsible for covering any non-recoverable food, staffing, or preparation costs, particularly if custom menu items were ordered.

We’re happy to work with you in cases of emergency or rescheduling, and we’ll always do our best to accommodate changes when possible.

GUEST COUNT AND MENU SELECTION

A final guest count must be provided at least one week prior to your event. If the number of guests in attendance is lower than the guest count provided, you will be charged for the contracted guest count. 

All final food and beverage choices and/or fixed entrée counts are also due at least one week prior to the event. 

CHILDREN 

Buffet meals for children aged 5-10 are $14 per child; children under 5 are free. A separate children’s menu is available for plated service and upon request. Children must be included in the final guest count.  

BAR SERVICE 

All beverage service options are based on consumption. You may offer your guests an open bar, limited open bar, or a cash bar where guests purchase their own beverages. The open bar can be limited by time, a certain dollar amount, or specific beverages. Alcohol is not allowed to be brought on or off premises.
